KSYLF 20-Year Online Reunion

October 10-11 and October 24-25

It's the event that you all have been waiting for... and it's finally here! The Kansas Youth Leadership Forum (KSYLF) is 20 years old, and we think that it's time to celebrate! This reunion is completely online and will be held over two weekends. So, you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home! Catch up with delegates from your year and meet other alumni from across the state. This is not just about reminiscing, though. We will have informational speakers and sessions on two topics: RELATIONSHIPS and INDEPENDENT LIVING. You will also learn about communication, navigating today's online world, and more! This will not be a repeat of what you learned at the KSYLF. You all are adults now, so these sessions will assist you in gaining the tools to enhance the life that you’ve been building!

To register, just click the REGISTER button to the right. We ask that you please provide at least a $10.00 donation in order to attend. This will help with costs of coordinating this reunion. If this $10.00 is not possible for you, contact us at carrieg@kyea.org or 785-215-6655.

JUST A FEW MORE DETAILS...

Alumni from all 19 years are invited to attend! While we hope that you will attend the entire reunion, it is not a requirement that you attend every session. We will send an email to you in a couple of weeks with a listing of the sessions. At that time, we will ask you to indicate what sessions that you are able to attend. But, again, we encourage you to come to all of them! You won't want to miss a single moment! The reunion schedule is below:

Saturday, October 10: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm

Sunday, October 11: 2:00 to 5:00 pm (we will also have a fun activity in the evening at 7:30 pm)

Saturday, October 24: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm

Sunday, October 25: 2:00 to 4:30 pm

Please note that we will have breaks throughout the day and will break for lunch each day.

Here is a glimpse at some of the sessions...

- Getting to know the other alumni

- Breakout groups with YOUR YEAR of delegates- time to share memories and also share issues that you are facing in your life

- KSYLF Trivia Game

- Breakout sessions on various topics related to relationships: how to meet people, how to bring up your disability, safety, boundaries, sexual health

- Breakout sessions on independent living: technology accommodations, budgeting, managing stress, how to's of living on your own, taking care of yourself through

- Breakout sessions on other topics: communication/assertiveness, navigating today's online world

- A panel on relationships and independent living

- A fun activity night-- we won't reveal too much, but we are considering a movie night, talent show, game night, or possibly other options!

- How to get involved in KYEA and volunteer for the KSYLF

- Creating a goal plan for your ideal life!

- You might even see some of your favorite KSYLF volunteers pop up throughout the reunion!
